Brass and Bone
A downloadable game
Brass and Bone is a procedural solo adventure role-playing game set in the Drift – a fantastic, endless archipelago set upon by all manner of dark forces.
Play can be played entirely procedurally – the world develops and events unfold over campaign turns, position/rank-based encounters oppose you with “AI” procedure, and dungeons and dangers can be generated entirely via table. The intention is to remove the need for self-authored solo or GMless play, without removing the possibility of more freeform play as desired.
Take to the seas or air, explore the lands between the dangerous seas of the Drift, find jobs to make ends meet, and defend settlements from looming threats.
Brass and Bone will include:
- Basic rules for play entirely possible with only d6s.
- Ground up character creation tables, from humans, to automatons, to abberations, and stranger things still.
- Rules for generation and crew-inclusive combat between ships, airships, and submersibles.
- Rank-based combat encounters – no maps or table-space required.
- Persistent injury and progression systems.
- Alternate rules for various styles of play.
- Rules for enemy behavior on and off the battlefield – no need for self-game-mastering as threats develop over time and fight battles.
- A robust armory of distinct weapons, gear, and crew/ship equipment.
- Distinct procedures for campaign turns and encounters; the world develops as you play.
- Travel, random encounter, and location generation procedures.
- Mass combat procedures.
- A Nemesis system for persistent foes.
- Procedures for finding, generating, completing, and failing jobs.
- Dozens of potential threats to stock encounters.
- Random dungeon generation tool.
- Worksheets to keep characters, encounters, locations, and other information organized.
